1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember your preferences, maintain your session, and understand how you interact with the platform.
Cookies are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website operators. They do not contain personally identifiable information on their own, but may be linked to personal information we hold about you.
2. How We Use Cookies
GoodSource currently uses only strictly necessary cookies, required to keep the platform functioning:
- Essential cookies: Required for the platform to function. These include session management cookies that keep you logged in as you navigate between pages. These cannot be disabled and are exempt from consent under POPIA, as the platform cannot function without them.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking cookies. If we introduce any in future, they will only be activated after you explicitly accept them via the cookie consent banner described in Section 3 below — never by default.
3. Your Consent Choice
On your first visit, a banner asks you to Accept or Reject non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (not as a cookie itself, but via local storage) for up to 12 months, so you are not asked again on every visit. You can change your choice at any time using the link in the site footer.
Rejecting non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to use GoodSource — strictly necessary cookies (covered in Section 4) are unaffected either way.
4. Cookies We Use

5. Third-Party Cookies
Google OAuth (Google LLC)
If you use "Continue with Google" to sign in, Google may set cookies on your device as part of the authentication process. These cookies are governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. We do not control Google's cookies and have no access to them.
Supabase
Supabase sets authentication tokens as cookies to maintain your login session. These are essential cookies that cannot be disabled without preventing you from logging in.
6. How to Control Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
- Cookie settings: Use the link in the site footer at any time to change your Accept/Reject choice.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- Account settings: You can sign out of GoodSource at any time, which will remove your active session cookies.
Please note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into GoodSource and using the platform.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the platform or by email. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
